    Description

Vintage authentic WW2 Passport or some sort of Travel Document issued by Country of Panama dated February 28, 1942 for Thomas Schmuck, a U.S. soldier serving in Panama during the war.  Includes his local address and physical description and on back there is List of Infractions (looks like Thomas was clean).  Also has Panama Revenue Stamp and signature from official.  Unfortunately the photo fell off at some point.  These may have been issued by country to keep tabs on U.S. personnel to make sure they weren't getting into trouble.
Thomas Kirby Schmuck Jr. was born in Ohio in 1917 and married Dorothy Gerster in NYC in 1938.  Dorothy was daughter of well-known cancer specialist and founder of American Cancer Society Dr. John Gerster and wife Alice Fox Gerster.  The couple lived in Minneapolis in 1940 and Dorothy accompanied her husband to Panama where she also served for Army doing clerical work.  However, we have been unable to find Thomas or Dorothy after the war.  We know she re-married at some point but that's it.  A frustrating search!
Condition is good some foxing and fading and scuffs.  Zoom in on pics as part of description.  This ships fast and FREE!  Contact us any questions and thanks for supporting our tiny biz.
