These striking multi-color ration sheets are printed in Spanish. They are related to the Fascist movement led by Francisco Franco and allied with Germany and Italy during the Spanish Civil War. The former supplied Franco with arms which enabled him to win the war and establish himself as Dictator of Spain. He was also supported by, and closely allied with, Benito Mussolini, the subject of these ration sheets.
One side of the sheet has 10 "Social Auxiliary" (charitable) ration coupons, each redeemable for a different commodity such as rice, beans, sugar, salt or corn. Color, location and dates of coupons may vary. The perforations around each coupon are visible on the other sides which vividly depict the Italian Dictator Benito Mussolini in typical macho style.
The pictures of Mussolini almost look hand painted due to the archaic printing method used (believed to be a form of silk screen process). Size approx. 8" x 11"
