This auction is for a
Vintage WWII Belgium Army Air Defense Cap Badge
Very nice original period
badge. Stamped silvered metal skeletal badge with a circle of barbed wire, the royal crown above, a gilt-edged red enameled triangle, point downwards, with the gilt and black letter ‘B’ centrally, a white enamel bar above; the reverse plain with pin for wear; slight chips to the upper corners of the white enamel; height 32.6mm (1.28 inch). The badge was worn as a mark of honor after the war by those who had been imprisoned on political grounds during the occupation of Belgium by Germany. The red triangle is that of the symbol worn to denote their reason for imprisonment.
