These are original and official replacement from the early '90, made at the Monetaria Nationala (National Monetary). Were given to the veteran officers from WW2, who were awarded with this order during the period that Romania was allied with Nazi Germany, to replace the ones whom were confiscated by the Communist regime. The most part of the officers awarded with this order (1941 model) were arrested and imprisoned for may years, just for the guilt that they were heroic during the battles against the communist Russia. This order was the highest Romanian military order awarded during war time. Not more than 50 pieces of this replacement were awarded.
