Historical Document - 1942 - U.S. War Department - Military Classification Card - Lamesa, Texas
In September, 1942, a small post card was delivered to a rural address outside the tiny town of Lamesa, Texas. A young farmer named Jack Adams was no doubt a bit apprehensive when he read the Selective Service had classified him in Class I. Pending a physical examination, he was considered healthy and was very likely going to war. These cards are typically hard to find, as they were usually turned in when the recipient reported for his physical. It's a fascinating piece of American military history.
Condition is very good. Very light wear. No discoloration. Still tightly bound. No torn, cut or missing pages. See photos to appreciate.
