    Description

    Envelope & Booklet - V. Y. Cook (Forrest's Cavalry Corps).
    Large envelope with cancelled stamp from Nashville, Tennessee to Col. Virgil Y. Cook. The booklet  is undated, but appears to be from the turn of the century, circa 1900 - 1910.
    Col. Cook served in the 7th Kentucky Mounted Infantry during the Civil War, under Gen. Forrest's command. Post war he lived in Batesville, Arkansas and was Colonel of the 2nd Arkansas Infantry during the Spanish-American war.
