    Captured War Photo Collection Germans Burn Eastern Europe WWII 1945
    Wooden box containing 100 + photos of German soldiers burning towns and villages as they cross Eastern Europe during WWII. This collection was captured in Germany 4-21-45, names and date written on the bottom of the box. The transcribed text on the paper inside the box was added by unknown at an unknown date. Photos have a curl, and they have scalloped edges. Most of the photos have no writing on the reverse and, most of the ones that do only a letter like "V" or number like "37", or a photo studio stamp; only one has written words. See photo attachments. These photos show the rapid advance and confidence on the way in, just prior to their freezing cold retreat. Captured with names, dates, and the location of those involved is RARE, and makes this a wonderful/interesting addition for any collector.
